What NIRF Measures
Scroll horizontally to see all columns.
| Parameter | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Teaching, Learning & Resources | Faculty strength, qualifications, student–faculty ratio, spending |
| Research & Professional Practice | Publications, citations, patents, projects |
| Graduation Outcomes | Placement, higher studies, median salary |
| Outreach & Inclusivity | Diversity of students, women, economically disadvantaged |
| Perception | Views of employers, academics and the public |
Because research and perception carry significant weight, NIRF ranks favour large, research-active institutions. A smaller college can still offer strong teaching in your chosen branch, so use the rank as one input among several.
