How CollegeDarbar collects, attributes, verifies and updates college data.

01Source hierarchy
- We prefer official college documents and websites, government and regulator records, examination authorities, recognized ranking bodies and published institutional reports.
- Third-party summaries are not treated as equivalent to a primary source.
02Required metric provenance
- Important numeric data points store value, year, source, source URL, verification date and reviewer.
- The profile-level last-verified date is derived from the newest verified data point.
03Updates and expiry
- Data is reviewed when a new official cycle is published or a correction is received.
- Older figures retain their year; they are not silently relabelled as current.
04No-data rule
- When no reliable institutional data is available, CollegeDarbar displays that limitation instead of a shared template statistic.
