CUET UG Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or are appearing in 2027, can apply. There is no age limit for CUET UG.
- CUET itself does not set a minimum percentage. Each participating university sets its own programme-wise eligibility (subjects, marks, domain combinations).
- Check the eligibility of every university and programme you target before choosing your CUET subjects; your subject choice must match the programme requirement.
CUET UG Exam Pattern
| Section | What it covers | Questions | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Languages (Section IA/IB) | Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and literary aptitude in the chosen language | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes per test |
| Domain subjects (Section II) | Subject tests based on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes per test |
| General Test (Section III) | General knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative and logical reasoning | 50 (all compulsory) | 60 minutes |
In the 2025 and 2026 cycles, candidates could choose a maximum of five subjects (languages, domain subjects and the General Test combined). Marking: +5 for each correct answer, −1 for each incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted. Confirm the 2027 scheme in the official bulletin.

CUET UG Preparation Tips
- Lock your target universities first, then choose CUET subjects that satisfy every programme's requirement.
- Base domain-subject preparation on NCERT Class 12 textbooks, since the tests follow that syllabus.
- Practise timed 50-question sets: with negative marking, accuracy matters more than attempting everything.
- Track university-specific registration (e.g. DU CSAS); clearing CUET alone does not complete admission.
